It’s quite frustrating to see people using this buzzword on any occasion. No, you can’t “build a metaverse”. No, it’s still not the same as VR. Or Gaming. The initial concept was more complex, and to be honest, more exciting. Hence, instead of trying to simplify it, I decided to write 20 alternative definitions. I was inspired by Jaron Lanier who created 52 definitions for Virtual Reality more than 30 years ago, let’s see if we can complete this list of definitions together. I would be happy to discuss further those which are difficult to understand or to accept.

  1. Brain Wallets: That’s a tongue-in-cheek term for memorization. Not recommended.
  2. Metal Engravings: Many people choose to secure their seed phrases by using products like Cryptosteel and Blockplate.
  3. Tattoos: There have been rumors online that people actually tattoo their seed phrases onto themselves, but this is probably an urban legend. Still, it made for an entertaining Reddit thread.
  4. Frankly, this person wins the Internet when it comes to a comically labyrinthine method you can use to secure your seed phrase. You know he’s kidding, but you’re not sure if he’s only half kidding:
